The Challenge
“When was the last time you actively searched for a news article?”
Honestly-most of us don’t. Traditional news consumption is declining. Despite spending hours on phones daily, people no longer seek out articles intentionally. By analyzing the reasons behind this shift,
we can understand how modern audiences interact with information
and reimagine the way news is delivered to fit their lifestyle.
Swipe, Read, Stay Updated.

# Minimal UI helps users stay informed
without feeling overwhelmed.
If the recommendations don’t match users’ interests, simply swipe left to remove them. This seamless interaction helps refine user preferences over time, ensuring they get the news that matters most to them.
Flexible Reading Modes
Toggle between list and card view with a single tap. A vertical list view for quick browsing and a card view for a visually immersive experience.
Dive deeper with seamless scrollingTapping on a card takes users to the full article page,
where they can explore detailed content.
Gamified Motivation
# Small wins for a habit-forming experience.
When all articles are read, a friendly pop-up greets the user. This is to give a sense of accomplishment for completing a mission.

User testing revealed that this simple feature significantly reduced the likelihood of users abandoning articles midway through, leaving only a few unread.
Offline Auto-Saving
# Turning Commute Downtime Into Opportunity
# Transform offline moments into news-reading time.

Inspired by this, the app automatically downloads news during key times. Users can also manually download articles they want. This feature helps turning moments of painpoints into opportunities for engagement.
